Scylla

So this is the sea monster Scylla from Greek mythology. There are a couple of versions of the character in myth. The version here is based on the most common depictions of Scylla in art. Scylla is often depicted with dogs coming from her lower torso and a serpent's tail. Her upper half is of a comely woman. She is known to prey on sailors. Chyribdis is the whirlpool in the background. Odysseus had to pass both of them on his journey home.
