Very nicely done, great details. Predominate sketch work makes the drawing very bold.

Having some good reference pictures also helps a great deal. The Handbook of the Birds of the World by Lynx publications has some of the best bird photos I've seen. I'm very lucky my mum's been collecting them.

Oh I've never heard of those publications. Are they like a series? i mostly always use books, i find the internet as a bad source, only because of reference quality is usually bad.

I agree, I haven't found the net particuly usefull either. There's too much stuff up there. Lynx are bassed in Spain I believe. They're starting a series on mamels at the end of the year. I think they're still accepting pre-publications orders. But the volumes aren't that cheap at around $250 a piece.

wow that is a fair price. but i guess if the are drawing brilliant works form the images and selling them, then you can easily make your money back.
